What is address geocoding?
Geocoding turns a human-readable address such as "1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA" into geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) that maps, GPS devices and databases can use.
For the most accurate result, include the street number, street name, city and country. A short query such as a city name returns the approximate center of that city.
Geocoded coordinates are handy for importing locations into Google Maps, building store locators, routing deliveries, and analysing business data by location.
